The AVI Chronograph 42 reference A233801A1C1X1 recalls Breitling’s cockpit watches and the Vought F4U Corsair. Its deep blue dial can approach black away from direct light, then reveal richer color as the angle changes. Large Arabic numerals, recessed registers and the extended red-tipped chronograph hand preserve the clear, functional character of an aviation instrument.

The 42 mm steel case has confident presence, while its balanced proportions and notably supple calfskin strap keep the watch comfortable and composed. Its bidirectional 12-hour bezel offers a second time-zone scale and turns with unusually crisp action, helped by broad, glove-friendly knurling. Piston-style pushers engage with a clean snap, and the strongly domed, anti-reflective sapphire gives the dial additional depth.

Breitling Caliber 23 is automatic and COSC-certified, with a 48-hour power reserve; the watch is factory-rated to 100 meters with a screw-locked crown. This example appears unworn, with protective plastic on the lug faces and little to no visible wear on its yellow-lined calfskin strap, leaving it exceptionally close to new.
