The Watch
Limited to only 100 examples, the Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph reference 601.NX.0147.LR occupies a particularly rare place within Hublot’s titanium creations. Its tonneau-shaped case surrounds an openworked gray display, revealing the architecture of the high-frequency 5 Hz HUB4700 chronograph beneath the hands and registers. H-pattern screws, alternating finishes and lightweight titanium give the watch its distinctly mechanical character. With so few examples produced, this combination of sculptural casework and visible mechanics is seldom encountered, making it a genuinely uncommon expression of the Spirit of Big Bang.
At 45 mm, the watch has emphatic presence, though the cambered case and comparatively light titanium construction make it less burdensome than the measurements imply. The gray alligator strap is anchored to a rubber underlay, combining a tailored surface with flexibility and moisture resistance. Its twin-trigger deployant hides excess strap length underneath, producing a clean fit without external keeper loops.
Automatic HUB4700 runs at 5 Hz for a notably smooth chronograph sweep and provides approximately 50 hours of reserve. The open display integrates elapsed-time registers and a date, while luminous chronograph indications aid low-light use. The watch is factory-rated to 100 meters. This pre-owned limited edition includes its original box and papers. It suits an owner drawn to visible mechanics and bold contemporary construction.
